Local shows and times by Text Messaging are provided by Google SMS.

SMS is the cellphone industry's acronym for "Short Messaging Service". The rest of the world knows it as Text Messaging.
Google offers lots of other information via SMS. For example, I use the Phone/Address lookup. The text messages are included in my plan while Directory Assistance is $1.40.
